Transfer Students
Continue Your Degree at Sara Schenirer
Already started college elsewhere? You may be able to transfer your credits and continue your degree at Sara Schenirer.
The application process for transfer students is similar to the regular admissions process, with the added step of transcript review. Once accepted, your previous coursework will be evaluated to determine which credits can be applied to your program.
Because every transfer situation is different, the final length of your program can only be determined after your full evaluation is complete.
How the Transfer Process Works
Transfer students follow the same general admissions process as other applicants. In addition, official transcripts from all previous colleges must be submitted for evaluation.
Official transcripts should be sent directly to:
transcripts@sarasch.com
or umsvtranscripts@sarasch.com (UMSV students only)
After acceptance, your coursework will be reviewed to determine which eligible credits can transfer into your program.
What Credits Can Transfer
Credits may be considered for transfer if the course meets our academic standards and aligns with program requirements.
A few important guidelines:
A grade of C or higher is required for a course to be considered for transfer
If a course is being used as a prerequisite, such as Biology, a grade of B or higher is required
Any course that Sara Schenirer offers as a classroom course, rather than through Coopersmith, must have been completed in a classroom setting in order to transfer
If that course was not completed in a classroom setting, it may need to be retaken
Residency Requirement
To graduate, students must complete at least 10 courses, or 30 credits, through our partner college.
This is an important part of transfer planning. Even when a student brings in prior credits, there is still a minimum number of credits that must be completed within the program in order to earn the degree.
How Long Will the Program Take?
The exact timeline depends on your previous coursework, your accepted transfer credits, and course scheduling.
In many cases, transfer students complete the program in about 3 semesters. In some situations, it may be possible to complete in 2 semesters.
That said, not all courses are offered every semester, so the full timeline can only be determined after the evaluation process is complete.
Important to Know
Transfer credit is not finalized at the inquiry stage. A full review happens only after the acceptance process is complete.
This allows us to evaluate your coursework accurately and build the clearest path forward based on your academic background and the requirements of your intended program.
