Applying for NJ Certification Directly

Before applying for NJ certification, you must take the applicable Praxis exams as outlined below. Click here to register.

Click this link: https://njedcert.force.com/manage/s/

Click “Create Account”

Fill in the required fields. If you did not create an account on NJ’s old teacher certification system, leave the field “Tracking Number” blank.

Click Continue.

After successfully creating your account, check your email for a Welcome email from NJEdCert.

In the email you received, click on the link “log in to create your password” 

Fill in your personal information

It will ask if you took a Language Proficiency Exam, click No.

It will ask for your ETS ID, you can leave it blank and press Continue

Create your password

Click on Apply Now

Click Continue

Click Yes by “Do you have a Degree from an Accredited College or University?”

Fill in the college details for your undergraduate degree

If you received your undergraduate and graduate degrees from the same institution, then you only need to fill this out once.

If you did not attend a Sara Schenirer affiliated college for your undergraduate degree, you will need to enter the name and contact information of the Registrar at the college(s) you attended. College websites generally have this information readily accessible.

After filling out all the information, review and continue.

If you attended a different college for your graduate degree, click Yes to add more information.

Click Yes by “Have you completed an Educator Preparation Program?”

By Licensing – Select “New Jersey CEAS Instructional Certificate”

By Testing – Physiology & Hygiene

If you completed coursework in Biology, Health, or Nutrition either through College courses, CLEPs or Coopersmith exams, click on “Physiology & Hygiene via Coursework” and you will need to provide a transcript.

If you did not complete coursework in Biology, Health, or Nutrition, select “Physiology & Hygiene via Online Test.” You will need to pass the New Jersey Department of Education Physiology and Hygiene Test located at this URL: https://forms.office.com/r/BM5WxG4H22.(Note, please copy the URL and paste it into a new browser tab). When it asks for your tracking number, you will find it by clicking on your account profile information. Once completed, download the PDF of your answers, and upload the pdf in the Document Collection tab of your case.

In general, this is a straightforward exam and we do not provide study materials. If you are uncomfortable with the exam, you may take a Coopersmith exam instead.

Document Collection:

Click on My Applications, click on the Application Review Case, click on the Document Collection tab.

Please have your university, college, school or clearinghouse email electronic transcripts directly to [email protected]. An official transcript is required from your undergraduate and graduate institutions, as well as Coopersmith/CLEP, if applicable.

Please click here to complete the required survey. You will need to provide proof that you completed this survey. Take a screenshot (Click Windows+ PrtScn on PC/ CMD+SHIFT+5 on Mac) or save the final page of the survey as a PDF when you are done completing it, and upload it to your NJEdCert account.

If you earned your undergraduate/graduate degree(s) from Concordia, you are unable to send an electronic transcript. Therefore, order a mailed transcript to:
