How to Apply for Early Childhood Initial Certification
Initial Certification is good for 5 years once it is issued. Before it expires, you should apply for Professional Certification. If you do not have 3 years of full time teaching experience after 5 years, you can apply for an extension. (This information can be found under Time Extension in the portal.)
You do not need to provide any proof of teaching experience for Initial Certification. After your certificates are issued, you can print the screen on TEACH that indicates they were issued. This is the only proof for Initial certification.
