Zoom Information for Live-Online Classes
Your Zoom Login Information
Our degree program is hosted on the ZOOM video conferencing platform.
Your Zoom login is generally “first initial + last name @sarasch.com” (example: [email protected])
Your Zoom password is generally “Capital first initial + last name + 1 + !” (example: Jdoe1! or Jdoe1!!)
We have also created a Sara Schenirer email account for you, with the same login information.
**For verification purposes, Zoom will sometimes request a verification code sent to your Sara Schenirer email.
Please make sure to save both of these logins so that you will always be able to access your account. In case you need help logging in, email [email protected].
Log in to your Zoom account at zoom.us and find your class link under Meetings.
Instructions for Accessing Your Online Class
How to log in to Zoom and start your class?
Go to zoom.us and sign in.
Click Meetings on the left-hand sidebar.
Find your class meeting and press Start.
**We have set up one recurring meeting for you that can be started anytime. It is named “Sara Schenirer Online Classroom” and it is to be used for all of your classes. You must be logged in to your Zoom account before starting class.
**We will send your class Zoom link to your students.
Additional Zoom Settings and Recording Information
Participants can only join once you (the host) have started the meeting. (Make sure to come on time)
Participants can join audio via telephone and computer.
There is no waiting room enabled.
The meeting will automatically be recorded to your cloud. Only you can access the recording, which can be found in your Zoom account once the meeting has ended.
Due to storage constraints, we have enabled a setting on your account that your cloud recordings will automatically delete after 2 days.
Therefore, if you’d like to save your recording, be sure to download it right away.
(Please note: Deleted recordings can be recovered for 30 days under “Deleted Recordings” but we recommend immediately saving the recording you want to keep so you don’t lose it.)
You can change your settings at any time. Feel free to explore your Zoom privileges, as it is a paid account with exciting features such as polling and breakout rooms.
**We have a unique Sara Schenirer virtual background that should be available to you in your background options. Click here for instructions on how to use the background.
**Breakout rooms can be a helpful tool to split up students in your class. Click here for instructions on how to set up breakout rooms.
**We recommend an incredible Zoom feature called Whiteboards. Click here for instructions on how to use whiteboards.
How to retrieve Zoom recordings from the Cloud:
Sign in to the Zoom web portal at zoom.us.
In the navigation menu on the left sidebar, click Recordings.
A list of cloud recordings will appear.
Click “Share” next to the recording in order to copy the link and password for that recording.
Please note: If you can’t find a recording, it may have been deleted. Ensure that you look in your trash, as the recording could have been accidentally deleted.
You can find and recover deleted recordings from your trash folder. However, after 30 days in the trash, the recording will be automatically deleted.
Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions.
