Graduate Policies and Procedures
You must earn a minimum grade of B in each course to be eligible for the full course load.
Absence:
Sara Schenirer allows one emergency absence per course. Missing more than one class may result in course failure.
Lateness:
Two latenesses are the equivalent of one absence. Coming more than five minutes late equals a lateness; coming more than fifteen minutes late equals an absence.
Assignments that are submitted late incur a 2% grade reduction per day. In addition, all assignments close (and can no longer be submitted) one week after their due date.
The best way to reach us is via email. Please make sure to open and read every email that is sent to you in its entirety. It’s very important to check your emails daily.
Every professor and coordinator will provide you with contact information. As is expected in a professional environment, only use the contact information provided to you by your professors and administrative staff.
Please allow two business days to receive a response when you contact a professor or staff member (this does not include weekends). Therefore, if you email a professor with a question about an assignment the night before the deadline, you will likely not receive a response before your assignment is due.
It is the student’s responsibility to be responsive to instructor correspondence in a prompt fashion. Please note, checking your spam folder and college email account will help you stay up to date. We advise you to forward your college account emails to your personal email account to stay up to date.
In deference to our commitment to meet the standards of all of our students, we request that you adhere to the following dress code, both in Zoom and in-person classes:
You may not miss an exam for any reason. In case of truly extenuating circumstances, please contact your professor.
During testing:
Cellphones are prohibited for any kind of use.
Grammarly, ChatGPT, spellcheck or any other tool may not be used.
If you have any question whether something is allowed, you must ask before using it.
If a student is found using a prohibited device or product, their test will be disqualified immediately.
Students who wish to question their grades must do so within fourteen business days of receiving that grade. They should email their coordinator indicating where and why they think the grade is in error. The coordinator will be in touch with the student once a decision has been made.
