The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of Mount St. Vincent is an ideal degree for pursuing a wide variety of career paths and graduate school opportunities. By applying thirty seminary credits, the degree can be completed in just one year.
Through the disciplines of psychology taught in a culturally sensitive environment, the student will come to better understand and appreciate individuals, society, and be able to demonstrate understanding of psychology as science, including different research methods and how evidence is used to create knowledge in the field. Students develop knowledge of psychological principles and theories, and learn how to apply them. Students become familiar with, and adopt professional standards in information literacy skills, communication skills, the conventions established by the American Psychological Association (APA) for documenting sources used in research papers, as well as APA ethical guidelines addressing respect for individual freedom and dignity.
Used as a stand-alone degree and a stepping-stone for entry into a graduate program, this 120-credit Bachelor’s degree can be used to gain entry into our prestigious array of graduate programs including the M.S. in Education & Special Education (Mt. St. Vincent & Concordia College), MSW in Social Work (Wurzweiler), and M.P.S. in Applied Behavior Analysis – ABA (Manhattanville College). It can also be used to apply to a wide variety of other graduate programs such as Psychology, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, School Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, School Leadership, Law, Marriage & Family Counseling, Nutrition, Accounting, MBA, Nursing, and more.
This degree is widely accepted and can easily be transferred into colleges across the country. Graduates of the B.A. in Psychology have gone on to graduate degree programs in prestigious universities including NYU, Rutgers, Columbia, Cornell, YU, Adelphi, Touro, Brooklyn College, FDU, LIU, Fordham, Carnegie Mellon, and others.

Thanks to a reduced rate offered exclusively to students of Sara Schenirer, the total cost for the full complement of coursework [45 credits] taken through M.S.V. is only $19,500! This includes the approximate cost of required CLEPs and Coopersmith exams.
Eligible students can receive financial aid (PELL, TAP) through FAFSA to cover the full cost of the M.S.V. tuition.
